So recently I passed the completely arbitrary milestone of 2,500 followers here on Twitter and I thought it a good time to set out where I intend to go with all this. As many of you know, I've been pretty vocal on the need for us to get off the internet and build something real.

Author and DJ Zakia Sewell is using British folk culture to challenge far-right nationalism. Sewell has journeyed around the British Isles exploring Britain’s folk resurgence for her debut book, Finding Albion: Myth, Folklore and the Quest for a Hidden Britain. Finding Albion builds on Sewell’s hit audio series for BBC Radio 4, which saw her seek out a different, more inclusive idea of “Britishness” beyond the usual national myths and symbols. Alex also has great cause to support for anyone looking to help out with practical solutions. Highly recommend that you also watch the video on his YT channel about Britains energy industry, or lack thereof.

The question won't be, 'at what price can I buy energy?' It'll be, 'is there any energy to buy?' I cannot stress this enough: We need to be building our energy production capabilities NOW! patreon.com/cw/CCFuel

@Royz291288 We're all feeling it now as a result of the lock downs. This crisis will probably manifest first as food price rises, then hospitality will have a bad summer (fewer people going out less & not as far). Energy prices won't stop rising and availability will be worse by Christmas.

@Kingbingo_ 100% Also, £2.5Bn is peanuts compared to the £1.5Trn is spending commitments Open AI has on its own. Does she really think she can make the YK a world leader in AI for one-twentieth of the money spaffed on the London-Birmingham line...?

In 1973, the Arabs turned the taps off, there was a panic, but then they switched the tap on again. This time, the Iranians have snapped the handle off and set fire to the shed. Infrastructure like this takes years to build. This isn't a crisis, its a game changer.
Philip Pilkington@philippilk

Gas facilities in Saudi Arabia. It’s over folks. We are heading into a major 1973-style energy crisis. There will likely be shortages and rationing. We will probably be moved to work-from-home - if you keep your job, of course. 🛢️📈

when it comes to foreign policy israel is extremely relevant & if we’re gonna be attached at the hip to this reckless nation the size of new jersey dragging us closer to WW3, we should absolutely be allowed to talk about it without a dumb bitch in our ear calling it anti-semitism
