@CleverMonsterCT Rap is not Hip Hop. Hip Hop is urban music (Black people's pop)

@bigbrutha_ How do you put something on chain that is not collaterised? Also, don't you need a digital asset issuer license for this?

Lol. I need folks to understand that, again, while we have aged investors who might have relied on dividend income from some companies, the managers of the business probably need the dividend more.
Tony Elumelu has 1.5bn direct shares and 4.8bn indirect shares.
The Group CEO, Oliver Alawuba, holds 126mm shares.
The Deputy Group CEO, Chukwuma Nweke holds 2mm shares.
The ED, Finance & Risk Mgt., Ugochukwu Nwabuoku, holds 77mm shares.
A final dividend of, say, ₦2.50 would translate to Tony going home with ₦15.8bn (₦3.8bn direct), Oliver with ₦316mm, Chukwuma with ₦5mm, and Ugochukwu with ₦192mm.
Tony recently acquired a substantial stake in Seplat through leverage. If anyone needs cash more, it's him.
But we manage businesses carefully, so that the cash-generating machine will be there for us to milk tomorrow.

Lagos? salary backlog? wickedness. Smh!

BREAKING: Lagos state government clears N3.6 billion salary backlog and boosts public workers’ welfare

@JoeyAkan ... because of the power law distribution that prevails in these type of business, a significant majority would earn the lion's share, and that could cause partnership problems.
People also want to stream music from other countries. How does that work? Doubt MTN can solve this.
English

@JoeyAkan Granted, most of the backward integration (tech stack) is owned, and building locally is cheaper compared to dev cost abroad. But from demand side, would I be using an MTN streaming app just cos I want to listen to Iyanya, and switch to Spotify for Pooh Shiesty? Long!
English

@JoeyAkan Media distribution is unprofitable if you don't own the assets. You can validate this anywhere across the world. Spotify only got profitable 2 years ago, 16 years after launch $2.1b in capital raised.
Streaming would work if labels come together and build it. Even at that...
