it's safe to say the way I trade and play crypto has by and large died an inglorious, rather insipid death. there have of course been some asymmetric opportunities if you timed it right (see ton eco, Eth rotation off the back of asteroid with trickle down to the renewed PvP on wojak and some other coins), but for the most part, the volume has consistently been on solana, and with a few incredibly rare exceptions, belief and conviction holds are routinely punished by permanent rotation of capital, random crime and inexplicable listings of coins which further fragment and destroy the liquidity bases in community coins, as capital is siphoned out on a daily basis by extractors. nobody cares about community, sustained interest and engagement, it is attention and crash games - Alon's hantavirus tweet and the ensuing volume vamping across chain tells the full story. usduc 15x'd in a day off a listing from a cex which does 2-3 figs daily volume on coins. KOLs blasted it, said this time it's different, coin is down over 60% in less than 24 hours. this entire pump and dump on a community coin was fuelled purely by attention, with zero relation to the meme itself, the community or a long-term vision. onchain believing, to me, feels like a fool's game for the overwhelming majority of scenarios, until further notice. something radical has to change with onchain liquidity for crypto to be in any way profitable for me or worth the time spent doing it, so I am completely tapping out of crypto until whenever that may be.
