@nwaisb Two more cents for anyone reading this: @nwaisb knows what he's talking about. The thoughts of someone who's really worked on this for years are worth much more than AI hype people on Twitter.

@nwaisb It's very rare that a serious legal problem simply involves answering a well-put legal question. It's also very rare that the facts are all available, the people know what to even ask, etc. Foundational models can't overcome that, even if they ask questions of users.

This was a great conversation with @KhurramDara, whose discontent with the regulation by enforcement model led to his run for state AG. I’m always inspired by people who walk the talk and push for changes they believe in. Khurram unpacks what that looked like in his NY AG push.

Had an awesome time chatting with @JacobRobinsonJD on the Law of Code! We talked lessons learned from the campaign, why state AGs make poor regulators, and how the future of frontier tech will be shaped by the clash between federal and state policy 👇 open.spotify.com/episode/1q0NEQ…

@jon_ckhan I wouldn't be surprised if right now the majority of legal questions in Ontario are being answered by LLMs, rather than lawyers. (Sure, not the best questions or the most important things, but just in sheer quantity.)

@jon_ckhan Right now, many, many people are flying on planes with no captains. Lawyers can help make that better, because only lawyers really get how law actually works (as opposed to the ideal versions of it that most people believe in.)

Legal AI is actually useful now. I've set up a bot system with Slack that works in private channels. It is shockingly good at some tasks, particularly contract review/analysis. Want to try it out? I've got a shared sandbox: DM me to be invited. You'll need a Slack account.

@jon_ckhan You should write this up! Legal is tricky, because there's so much that lawyers do. But there's some things that can now be done quite well like this. I had an email-based robot last year that was ok but not quite good enough. This one is useful, using Gemini Flash 3.1.

@aCameronhuff Agreed! I’m defending my thesis next month. And I used it a lot to critique my conclusions, understand what I said, and help me think and write better. Anyone who resists now should also just turn off their spell check and go back to writing by hand and researching in books.

This is a new project, but based on my work with LLMs + legal over the last few years.

2700 words on the opportunities in crypto in 2026, both Canadian and foreign: cameronhuff.com/blog/opportuni… For each one I've set out why I think it's an opportunity, what's happening, and how it relates to the others. Crypto's not slowing down in 2026.

Generating Canadian statutes using Gemini: cameronhuff.com/blog/new-stabl…. This is an AI-generated law that puts forward an alternative Stablecoin Act for Canada, based on my previous blog post and some extra prompting. An interesting experiment.
