I genuinely don't get why the devs are so insistent on not giving you tools. Subnautica isn't a horror franchise. It has freaky elements, but it ain't Outlast. Let us give snacks to fish to befriend them so they fight other fish if it's such a big deal.

Given the tone and the comments a different dev gave saying the dev team is also split on the killing fish issue, I think it will get added, but it will be a while. The dev also laid out how it will work which is you likely won't be able to kill anything large than a shark, I think that was that particular dev extending an olive branch and. I think it's a fair compromise. If they want to push their environmentalism message though, they should probably replace the fish grinder generator with something like a hydroelectric generator or something.
