Activist: "American cattle ranching is destroying the Great Plains." Rancher: "How many bison were here in 1800?" Activist: "A lot." Rancher: "Sixty million. Same biomass as every cow in America today. Standing on the same grass." Activist: "That was different." Rancher: "How?" Activist: "It was natural." Rancher: "It was ruminants. Eating grass. Trampling it. Dunging it. The grassland built six feet of topsoil underneath them." Activist: "Then we shouldn't have killed them." Rancher: "Correct. We killed them, ploughed the prairie, and got the Dust Bowl in thirty years. Largest ecological collapse in American history." Activist: "..." Rancher: "The fix wasn't fewer animals. The fix was putting them back. The grass evolved to be eaten." Activist: "So reintroduce bison." Rancher: "Or use the 1,200-pound ruminant that's already here, in the same numbers, doing the same job, on the same grass." Activist: "It's not the same." Rancher: "It's the same animal with a different accent." Activist: "It still feels wrong." Rancher: "The thing that felt wrong was killing the bison. The cattle are how we're paying it back. Take them off and you finish the job we started in 1870."

One week with Bumpy! Like any baby, he sleeps deeply and often – especially snuggled up to his Keeper, with a tummy full of milk. Bumpy was rescued just last weekend, after the Kenya Wildlife Service received reports of a deceased female hippo with an orphan left behind. She appears to have died in a territorial fight, likely defending her baby’s life. Bumpy had stayed huddled beside his mother’s body for at least a day. Now, Bumpy has a family with us and a wild future ahead. He’ll never be alone again – Keepers like Joseph, pictured here, are with him around the clock, loving him and attending to his every need. As you can see, he is lapping it up! Read his full rescue story and find out how to support his journey: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/bumpy

Ok… most of you know I was in the organic baby formula business, but what you don’t know is I dabbled in diapers as well. I also know this baby2baby “non profit” and have had past interactions with them.. I’ll leave that out for now.. Let’s dive into this absolute grifting nonsense. Prepare to be shocked. California is about to spend $20 million of taxpayer money to give 100,000 newborns 400 diapers each through Baby2Baby. Do the math with me: 100,000 babies × 400 diapers = 40 million diapers $20,000,000 ÷ 40,000,000 = $0.50 per diaper!!!!! Now walk into any Costco in California and you can buy the same quality diapers for .12 to .15 cents each! That’s $48 to $60 for 400 diapers. So the state is paying 8–10x more per diaper than a regular family buying in bulk. They could’ve just handed every low-income new mom $100 cash and told her to go to Costco. She’d get more diapers, better ones if she wanted, and still have money left for formula, wipes, or whatever the hell she actually needs. But nah… that wouldn’t let Gavin and his connected “nonprofit” girls running the show there cut ribbons, take photos, do galas and be friends with celebrities and brag about the “first-in-the-nation” program while skimming their cut for “administration” and “partnerships.” This is peak government stupidity!!! Spend way more money to feel good and look good, instead of just trusting parents with their own damn money. We’re not helping babies. We’re funding another bloated nonprofit-government grift. Math doesn’t lie. The diaper math is brutal. What a scam and a joke!!!!!

"Sugar-free" is code for "we replaced sugar with something even worse for you." "Fat-free" is code for "we took the fat out and packed it with sugar to make up for the taste." "Lite" is code for "watered-down, then sweetened, then sold at the same price." "All-natural" is code for "technically traceable to a plant at some point in the chain." "Cage-free" is code for "the cage is now the entire windowless barn." "Whole grain" is code for "still flour, still spikes your blood sugar, just browner." The label is the marketing. Out of every disgusting, dishonest piece of filth the mainstream media has produced about Hurricane Helene... This is the worst. 60 Minutes has NEVER done a story on the families FEMA denied. They NEVER mentioned the Amish, who are STILL in the mountains rebuilding homes 550 days later. They NEVER mentioned Jake Jarvis, who has worked 550 days STRAIGHT FOR FREE for Hurricane Helene victims. Instead, they dug up some fringe conspiracy angle to smear the people who actually showed up as White Nationalists. I'm so angry. Let me tell you what 60 Minutes will NEVER report on I was there. I lived it. I am still here. I shared every story I could find. Me, my wife, hundreds of volunteers delivered RVs to mothers holding babies who were sleeping in TOOL SHEDS AND TENTS in the freezing cold, in the mountains. Because their homes had been ripped off the side of a mountain and washed down the French Broad. So tell me 60 Minutes... WHERE WAS THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT? Tell me, WHY did all these volunteers NEED to show up? Any thoughts on that?!!!!! Any investigation AT ALL into the federal or state government's response to Hurricane Helene? Please tell me... if the federal government was doing such a GREAT JOB, why did we need to put victims in RVs... ...A MONTH AFTER THE HURRICANE?!!!!!!! Literally every single victim you talk to in Western North Carolina has a horror story about dealing with FEMA... ...and guess who they will all say actually cam through for them? Neighbors. Church groups. The Amish. The Cajun Navy. Shawn Hendricks. Samaritan's Purse. MercuryOne. The Mission Mules hauling insulin up washed-out roads, ONLY ACCESSIBLE by mules. Greg Biffle burning his own fuel in helicopters. Veterans like Adam Smith who organized helicopter rescues with other veterans BY HIMSELF and then was demonized by the media for it. Volunteers like Jake Jarvis working TO THIS DAY, 550 days later without ANY PAY AT ALL. THOSE ARE THE STORIES FROM HURRICANE HELENE WORTH TELLING. But 60 Minutes won't tell ANY OF THEM. Because the truth makes the federal government the villain and the "deplorables" are actually the heroes in this story and they can NEVER admit that. So instead they smeared the rescuers as white nationalists. This is unforgivable. I was there. I saw it with my own eyes. And I will BE DAMNED if I let CBS rewrite the history of what happened to my mountains.

Wild fact about oats you probably don’t know. The same glyphosate (a known carcinogen) used as a weedkiller is also used to harvest them. Sprayed on the crop 7-10 days before harvest to kill the plant and force it to dry faster. Whole field dries uniformly at once. Saves money on grain dryers. Glyphosate gets absorbed into the plant and locked in the grain itself before harvest. No washing or processing removes it This brand prohibits glyphosate usage entirely and are easy to find. They’re also sprouted which significantly breaks down the phytic acid neurotics love to complain about. Been buying them at Whole Foods for a while, found them at Costco last night. Don’t fall for the anti oat propaganda. Bad sourcing created a bad rep for an otherwise good grain

Factory farming, especially the treatment of pigs and chickens, is an outrage against God. The new farm bill that will allow pigs to be raised in such conditions must be fought tooth and claw. Phone your representative and do everything you can to stop it passing the Senate.

In 2017, one my first tasks at the White House was to keep Bobby Kennedy far away from the West Wing. Not because President Trump didn't want him there (he'd actually agreed to Bobby's pitch to create a vaccine safety commission). But others (you can guess who) weren't thrilled, and they told me to get rid of him. So I protected the orthodoxy I'd been trained to protect. And it took me years to realize what I had actually done. Tomorrow, I publish the full confession. The 2002 autism moms I ignored. The 2017 vaccine safety commission I killed. The 2021 moment I finally broke. The apology I owed Secretary Kennedy. And what I've done to atone. It's hardest thing I've written. I'm sending it out to my list at 6am. Give A Shit About Nature
Give A Shit About Nature@giveashitnature·
Vultures eat anthrax, botulism, rabies, and cholera for breakfast. Their stomach acid is among the most corrosive in the animal kingdom, with a pH around 1, low enough to dissolve the bones, hide, and pathogens of dead animals that would kill almost anything else. A vulture eating a diseased carcass isn't a vector for disease, it's a terminus. The disease chain ends in the vulture's gut, and that's pretty hardcore. When vulture populations crashed in India in the 1990s, rotting livestock carcasses sat where vultures used to clean them. Feral dogs and rats took over the cleanup, both of which actually do spread rabies. Researchers later linked the vulture collapse to roughly 500,000 deaths in India over the following decade. The same collapse is now underway in sub-Saharan Africa. Six of eleven African vulture species are threatened with extinction, primarily from poisoned poaching baits. The animals nobody finds cute are doing more public health work than most of the species we actively protect.

You are not entitled to other individual’s money or wealth. If someone is more successful than you and earns more, the “fair share” that you are entitled to is exactly ZERO. If a rich person wants to give you money, that is charity, not state-sponsored extortion.

Can someone please explain, in very simple language, how growing almonds in a Californian desert, draining the local aquifer until the ground subsides, spraying the entire crop with fungicides because almonds can't survive without them, killing off the commercial bee population in the process, then refrigerating the harvest and shipping it six thousand miles to Britain is environmentally friendly, but buying a piece of beef from a farmer twelve miles down the road, whose cattle eat the grass that grows in the rain that falls on the hills that have been there since before anyone had opinions about this, is a planetary emergency? Asking for the cow.

They attacked wool. We got polyester. Half a million tonnes of microplastic fibres enter the ocean from synthetic clothing annually. Microplastics are now in human blood, lung tissue, and placentas. Wool biodegrades in months. Polyester persists for centuries. They attacked leather. We got PVC. PVC production releases dioxins. The vegan leather peels within two years. Both require petroleum. Leather is a byproduct of food production. It lasts decades. It biodegrades. The ethical alternative requires an oil well. They attacked butter. We got margarine. Trans fat disease for a generation. Now on its third formulation. Butter contains vitamins A, D, E, and K2. Margarine contains seed oils and an ingredients list. The butter never changed. The butter never needed to. They attacked beef. We got plant-based burgers. Pea protein extracted with hexane. Seed oils. Nineteen other ingredients. A supply chain across multiple continents. Soy driving deforestation in Brazil at a scale that dwarfs British cattle farming. Beef on British marginal land grows on hills that cannot grow crops. Sequesters carbon. Fertilises without a factory. Complete protein. Every fat-soluble vitamin. No dead zone. In every case: the traditional animal product was nutritionally superior, environmentally lighter, and cheaper to produce. In every case: the ethical replacement was industrially complex, petrochemically dependent, and worse for the body using it. The ethics were the marketing.
