A Monkey Could Run Canada for the Next 4 Years — And Do a Better Job Than Mark Carney
Powerless Canadians, the just-passed Canada Budget just set a new low: $78.3 billion deficit this year, averaging $64 billion annually over five years more borrowing than Trudeau ever managed in a single non-crisis year.
Mark Carney sells it as sophisticated leadership with his fancy “Capital Budgeting Framework” and promises of long-term growth.
A monkey would straight-up outperform him by keeping it simple and honest:
- The monkey would fling cash at subsidies and programs without pretending half of it creates productive assets.
- No reclassifying $94 billion (over five years) of day-to-day operating spending and tax credits as noble “generational capital investments” — the PBO already confirmed that trick makes the government’s $311.5 billion capital claim shrink to just $217.3 billion under normal definitions.
- The monkey wouldn’t claim the operating budget is heading toward balance when it stays in deficit every single year without the accounting games.
- It would skip the self-congratulatory speeches about “Building Canada Strong” while government spending props up fake GDP numbers and the real private economy stays stuck with weak productivity.
Carney’s approach requires complex spreadsheets, overly expansive definitions that no other serious country uses the same way, and constant spin to hide that we’re just spending more, borrowing more, and delaying hard choices.
A monkey? It would spend the money, eat a banana, and at least admit what it was doing no illusions, no fake separation of accounts, and probably lower long-term interest costs on the debt.
The budget has passed. The red ink machine is locked in for four more years.
Canada, be honest: Would a monkey in charge actually deliver a clearer, less insulting result than this?

PM Mark Carney speaks of the dangers of climate change and how we all have to change our behaviours.
Yet his actions are totally at odds with his words. His directorship at Brookfield was characterized by environmental devastation and questionable ethics.
Brookfield slashed and burned Brazilian rainforest, refused to remediate it, violated indigenous rights, avoided billions of dollars in Canadian taxes, and destroyed thousands of hectares of virgin land to generate “green” energy.
It would appear that his apparent concern for the environment is in fact based in greed and merely couched in faux environmentalism. Yet we, the little people, have to pay for the myriad of green scams which permeate the Federal Government’s policies.

All we got? A pathetic handful of worthless MOUs while jobs vanish and investment flees! What a total BETRAYAL!
This guy jets around the globe NON-STOP – already 68 days abroad in his first year (20% of his time in office, more than Trudeau or Harper combined). Barely enough time in Canada to unpack an overnight bag! How the hell is he “leading” us when he’s never here?!
And don’t get me started – at the WEF he flat-out said Canada is “the most European of non-European countries” and bragged he sees himself as EUROPEAN, not Canadian. Irish and British citizenships first, us last. Whose country is this anyway?!
This is the SAME guy who was whispering in Trudeau’s ear during the Freedom Convoy – writing an op-ed calling it “sedition,” demanding they choke off funding and crush the protesters. The SAME convoy where lower courts ruled the Emergencies Act DIDN’T meet the legal threshold and was UNLAWFUL. Now Carney’s own government is desperately appealing to the Supreme Court to overturn it. Shocking? Not anymore!
Face the facts: Carney’s only here for TWO things – lining his pockets and Brookfield’s (the massive asset firm he chaired, loaded with ESG billions, Bermuda tax havens, and massive conflicts he won’t fully disclose) while he manages the controlled DECLINE of Canada for his globalist buddies!
