The original ending is better because it shows Anakin as spiritually redeemed. That's the man he would've been if he didn't turn to darkness. The new ending shows regression. Anakin now reverts back to who he was before becoming Darth Vader, who was still not a good person

If you dislike this change, you’re a permanently Gen X nostalgiabrained doofus. It’s so obviously better to have the protagonist of his own entire trilogy return in this meaningful scene than for it to be Some Guy he never even aged into before becoming Vader.
