Not been around much since yesterday morning, so catching up with what has been going on, and the various announcements and comments. So tell me, have I got this right? Labour have chosen to stand down their MP in an area that voted exclusively for Reform in the local elections so Burnham can run. The idea is that Burnham wins, then launches an attack on the premiership. So the people of Makerfield know he is parachuted in to make a run for No. 10, not because of love of their constituency. We are expected to believe Burnham when he says (like Starmer once did) that he will introduce lots of new left wing policies, while simultaneously announcing that he will not get rid of Rachel Reeves' fiscal "rules" - which is no more a "rule" than me saying I won't eat baked beans on a Sunday is a "rule" - to steady the bond markets. This is all to Save Labour! (now "Saving Labour" is a phrase I have heard somewhere before). The Greens are expected to just let them get on with their internal shenanigans, let Burnham run unhindered, and not put up a candidate, and if we do, WE will be responsible if Reform take the seat? Give me a break.
