Dreams often start in childhood. On this #InternationalSchoolMealsDay, a young boy in #Somalia🇸🇴 shared his dream, and with daily @WFP school meals, he walks into class believing it’s possible. Sometimes, one simple meal is the first step toward a future with no limits. #ISMD

Somalia’s hunger crisis requires immediate, collective action. The cost of inaction will be humanitarian, economic and security related, extending far beyond Somalia’s borders. @WFP urgently requires US$95M to continue lifesaving support.

This is #Somalia 🇸🇴, home to the longest coastline in mainland #Africa. 🌍 But years of shocks, insecurity, and deep socioeconomic challenges have pushed communities to the brink. And just as those needs grow, @WFP is running out of resources.

They used to say “one day.” Today is Day One. With support from @WFP, youths we trained have officially registered their companies and received their documents today. Skills ✔️ Equipment ✔️ Businesses launched ✔️

Strategic communications, messaging and optics management are a major deficit in our government today. There is no messaging discipline. People are all over the place. One day minister of finance is posting with excitement about how he has paid millions of dollars to Europeans for our land. The next day, minister of transport is visiting accident victims bandaged in cardboard. On a lazy morning, a GVT controlled paper is telling citizens millions are going to be shelled towards houses and houses for war vets. What a leaky-bucket approach to managing politics 😳!!
