The events started on August 15 last year and are being held in various cities across the two countries, till August this year, when all the stitches made during them will be incorporated into one khes fabric, and displayed in Delhi and other sites where the events were held.

80 years ago, the partition between India and Pakistan occurred, since when a deep enmity has lasted between the countries. Textile art collective Rafunaama's “Khwaab-e-Rafu”, a series of group stitching and discussion events on the partition seeks to counter this feeling.

Chilly winds and other favourable weather conditions also cleaned up Delhi's air, as the 24-hour average AQI was logged in the “satisfactory” category at 93, marking the cleanest air for 2026 and the first “satisfactory” air day since October 9 2025, when it logged an AQI of 99.

Delhi saw an unusual March day yesterday, as a cyclonic circulation caused the max temp to fall to 21.7°C, 9.6°C below normal and a dip of 5.1°C from Thursday, marking the lowest max temp for the month in six years, since March 8 2020, which saw a max temp of 21.2°.

A week long exercise saw HT collect 18 water samples from across Delhi, finding 8 of these -- all tap water -- had total coliform or e-coli bacteria in it. This indicates sewage is mixing into the drinking water - a troubling scenario, not too long after the Indore tragedy!
