@evilaj2010 I spent all day helping villagers and being a knight. I saved some cats, helped an old man, a little kid and a few tavern workers. It's such an immersive game, I'm going to go play it now.

Funniest saga I've got got see in a little bit, and made Afroman relevant as fuck again, if even for a lil bit. He beat the fuck out of this case!
Count Dankula@CountDankulaTV

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

Regarding Crimson Desert, which has a roughly 78 aggregate score on Metacritic. Here's my read on things so far: 1. The people who are calling it "mediocre," "uninspired," etc. in their reviews are mostly the people who rate games like DA: Veilguard highly, while rating games like Black Myth: Wukong low. 2. The people who are hyping it, saying it's going to be amazing, and who have gotten their hands on early review copies or were invited to play the game at exclusive events... are people who I trust, consider to be *actual gamers,* and who have previously been very spot on in their predictions. The skeptic side of the game review crowd, basically. That being said, I think there's a few important things for people to know, and I think you should temper your expectations a bit, to leave room for being impressed: First, the game is not "story-heavy." Meaning, it's more of an open-world sandbox. There *is* a narrative that drives the events of the game, but as these reviewers have mentioned... don't expect a story on the level of something like The Witcher 3. It's not that kind of game. Rather, Crimson Desert is moreso an *adventure game* with a little bit of everything blended together. It seemingly takes inspiration from, and is a bit of a mishmash of TotK, The Witcher, Dragon's Dogma, Assassin's Creed, God of War, and even old school fighting games. It is not trying to be *exactly like* any of these games, but you will see their DNA baked into many of the games systems. Also, don't expect the game to hold your hand. Apparently it is very "make your own adventure" and the game's systems are deep and complex. This would frankly explain why a lot of reviewers are struggling with it, because this is a *massive* game that expects you to *dig deep* and really immerse yourself in it. The more casual gaming audience will be much more drawn to shit like Veilguard, where you just turn your brain off, press the button, and make your way through a transgender fantasy land. Anyways, I will reiterate once again something that I have believed and driven home for years now: DO. NOT. PREORDER. EVER. NO MATTER THE GAME. NO MATTER THE DEVELOPER. NO MATTER YOUR HYPE. Preordering has caused, frankly, at least half of the problems in AAA gaming. The more consumers who avoid preordering things, the better. If developers believe that they can earn 60% of their income before the game is even out, through marketing alone, they're not going to put as much effort into developing the actual product. That's not to say that Pearl Abyss, specifically, is like this because to my knowledge they have a fairly good reputation amongst players and haven't given us any good reason to doubt them. But yeah, just as a general PSA, I think it's always a good idea to wait a day or two after a game is out to see what people are saying. And most importantly: never take game journalists or "professional critics" seriously. Their video game opinions are dogwater and they're not serious gamers who can be trusted to reflect the audience.
