Zion’s footage gave such a nice, liberated feeling that contrasted well with the grim interior we built and really made the ending uplifting. We can recreate a lot of things here in Tucson but large snowfall outdoors is not one of them, and it added so much to this.

The snow effect was bouncing a ton of light off a white sheet and cloth floor cover. We tossed fake snow into a fan and secured the door with wire to keep it positioned. We found the door at a thrift store and a colleague put it into one of our flats.

This was shot in two places across the country—a collaboration between our Tucson studio crew and our amazingly talented coworker and Social Media specialist @ZionDood in the Midwest.

A few years back I picked up Signalis and flew through it over a winter break! Loved it so much! Thrilled to say I had the chance to help make this commercial for the new merch! I went out in sub zero temps with one of my best friends and filmed the snow scenes! ❄️

For a character as menacing and iconic as Dedan, I wanted its plush to look huge and ominous. So we rented a Laowa 24mm probe macro lens, which allowed us to get very, very close to the products.
