@FrankAaskov I was thinking this, i.e. it's not only a 2026 issue, but also before, so presumably implementation asap would reduce rerouting as much as possible. Flip side for govt I suppose is the time needed to get the policy designed in the right way.

@FrankAaskov Must say i've not read the govt response much yet (but i have now looked at your response!). Makes sense that's a concern. Do you have a sense of scale? And is 2026 much different to 2025, if EU is only covering 2.5% of emissions with CBAM in 2026 +reporting req are firm by 2025?

Government confirmed new cap for UK Emissions Trading Scheme today. In rush of Brexit, the cap had been left v loose 2021-23 (first 3 years of green solid line). This brings it into a tighter range (although least ambitious of those consulted on). gov.uk/government/new… #ETS

Here are the UK #CCS projects going through to final negotiations with UK Govt, announced today. The Buxton lime plant is particularly interesting as it could start a CO2 pipe route to some of the most geographically difficult to reach CCS-needing sites! @theGCCA @MineralProduct
