@Rugby_Scoop Both were cynical, Lynagh was always push the ball forward rather than trying to catch it. The test the refs apply for the yellow was whether it was to prevent a line break. That’s where the difference in the two outcomes came from.

@aaronmacn DuPont was deliberate — a clear slap on the ball. How is that not cynical (even if there’s a player within 10 m)? Lynagh is reaching out to catch the ball. How is this cynical when DuPont’s wasn’t?

#RugbyScoop | I completely disagree with this call! Louis Lynagh is the passing line here; he was in a catching position. Calling this a deliberate knock-on is absurd. Last week Dupont did something similar, but because there was a player in the backfield, it was deemed just a penalty.
