Mostly I'm (still) just thinking about Star Trek: The Next Generation.

2 months in, gf is slowly menswearguying me before and after

A large part of the Wildlight Entertainment team that worked on @PlayHighguard has been laid off, just 16 days after release. An unfortunate, brutal and sad outcome for a game I enjoyed in early play tests.

One way I think Frieren could have done something more interesting with its premise was if Himmel was a more flawed/grey character and the idealized picture of him we see in Frieren's memories was a distortion showing how the passage of time leaves only the most positive memories

Reminder that using AI to write code is an incredibly bad idea still, and anyone advocating for it is either incompetent or evil. It's just as dumb as letting AI write the laws. It's about logic, not about typing.

Apparently Bajor (SA) and Kiley 279 (SNW) are, in fact, the same planet. Ooooor the producers behind Starfleet Academy are such lazy slobs they just grabbed any old "planet" asset and shoved it in, assuming the fans wouldn't notice. Which is funny, given Trekkies.

The existence of this image would seem to indicate that neither she nor any of the show’s staff knew anything at all about Star Trek. Not the technology, not the ethos, not the culture. If only there had been thousands of books, essays, and illustrations to draw from. Or hundreds of successful previous shows. Or millions of super-devoted fans to talk to, whom presumably they wanted to be fans of this as well. But nope. Had to create the whole thing in a total vacuum for a whole new audience I guess.
