Now, the new 2024 CDC guidelines advise clinicians to counsel patients on pain management during IUD insertions. It's rewarding to have played a part in this progress! Grateful to see the recognition this issue deserves and excited to continue advocating for women's health!

I discovered the lack of research and guidelines for pain relief in gynecological procedures. Motivated, I wrote a policy for the American Medical Association, urging them to recognize and address this disparity.

In college, my friend shared her painful IUD insertion experience - no counseling, no pain relief. It made me wonder: Why aren't women offered proper pain management?
