The libghostty C API is functionally super stable, because its the same core thats been powering Ghostty for years. But the ABI is not yet stable. In this video, I talk about what an ABI is and the plans we have to ensure libghostty ABI compatibility once we tag a release.

I’m convinced this is one of those “obvious in hindsight” moments. The future agent IDE might not be a web app. It might already exist, waiting behind C-h k. 🙃

Now the agent isn’t chat-first. It’s environment-first. Stateful. Inspectable. Replayable. Hackable. Markdown agents feel like stateless assistants. An org-mode + emacs agent feels like a co-processor for thought.
