a prompt I've been using a lot recently: implement <SPEC> and while you do, keep a running implementation-notes.html file (or markdown) with decisions you had to make weren't in the spec, things you had to change, tradeoffs you had to make or anything else I should know

@trq212 Because you shouldn't have to track progress manually like this there's tons of inherent drift. Deterministic workflows with stages, modes, gates and verifiable outputs is the way

@_sholtodouglas The biggest issue I have found honestly is trust issues with Opus or Sonnet is that. It will say "xyz is done". I had to say things like "You are being lazy". "Be honest". Then it tries to come with findings with proof. Otherwise it just keeps guessing things initially.

When do you reach for other models instead of Claude? What can we do better? Hit me with all of your frustrations. dms open. If you can give me detail (e.g. specifics/transcipts) - it'll help a lot in finding out exactly what we need to do to improve the next model

@_sholtodouglas It will say: " You are right, I was being lazy". "You are right I was guessing things". It will try to find shortcuts: "Anyways, we already have an easy solution, don't waste time for exactly what you are looking for etc etc".
