Recaping 2025: 🇸🇳 Senegal advances trade facilitation! The Ministry of Economy & Planning, with AATB support, held a Public–Private Dialogue Workshop with nearly 50 participants from 10+ institutions in December, 2025 in Dakar.

Recapping a high-level dialogue shaping the future of Arab-African trade. On the sidelines of the recently concluded @aatb_program Board of Governors Meeting in Abuja, Ministers, Heads of Regional FIs, policymakers, and trade experts from across the Arab and African regions convened for a strategic roundtable discussion. The session, “From Tariff Challenges to Trade Opportunities: Leveraging African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA)”, focused on practical pathways to reduce tariff and non-tariff barriers, strengthen regional value chains, and unlock new cross-regional trade opportunities. Discussions highlighted priority sectors including agri-food, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and transport, underscoring the importance of policy alignment, private-sector engagement, and coordinated regional action to accelerate trade integration.
