Excited to announce that the PolyGloss paper has been accepted to @aclmeeting! Previously, we trained models to help in endangered language documentation workflows by automatically predicting interlinear glosses. But real-world user studies revealed crucial issues...

Really excited about this work w/ my long-time collaborators at Boulder! We address limitations in existing morphosyntactic annotation systems for digitally under-resourced languages and show how *jointly* predicting morphological segmentation helps with glossing performance

deadline for Olmo internship application is Dec 15 🗓️ chatted with prospectives at #NeurIPS2025, here's some fish & tips 🐟 approach it like your phd apps. reach out to potential mentors. are they even hiring? what are they excited about? 🐠 it's not about num papers published. we care about notable projects, quality of execution and communication. preprints are great. open source contribs can be more valuable than papers. 🦈 we read all your short responses. it's important to be specific and clear in your ideas. we get thousands of applicants, so generic responses like "I work on RL" don't get past screening. convey the problem you're solving, not just novel methods: our favorite apps are folks who engaged w/ our work & point out flaws/ways to improve 🐡 more broadly about applying to @allen_ai, it's ok to apply to multiple teams. each has its own hiring process
