[ABA Antitrust Daily Digest May 13, 2026] NCAA Gets Final Approval of $303 Million Settlement With Coaches (Bloomberg Law) The NCAA won final court approval of a $303 million class action settlement in an antitrust case brought on behalf of Division I volunteer coaches. The case alleged that binding NCAA rules unlawfully restricted Division I schools to a limited number of paid coaching positions in most sports, forcing any additional coaches to forego salaries for the sake of their career aspirations and love of their games. [ABA Antitrust Daily Digest May 12, 2026] Student Athlete Pay Bill Set for Floor Vote in the House (Bloomberg) House Republican leaders plan to tee up a floor vote next week on a bill to codify rules for paying collegiate athletes and add to the NCAA’s antitrust protections, according to a leadership aide. The SCORE Act (H.R. 4312) would govern college players’ ability to profit off of their name, image, and likeness, prohibiting the NCAA and schools from restricting their ability to enter into deals.
