Sunday 17/5/26 evening at ABAA. Last Sunday ABAA member Mr. Ram Mohan gave a talk on Astronomical instruments used in the ancient Indian Astronomy. He gave detailed information on concepts behind the instruments and their application.

Sunday 10/5/2026 evening at ABAA. A very interesting and interactive session on Sunday with members sharing their observing reports, discussions on the objects observed and techniques used, astronomical concepts.

Sunday 3/5/2026 evening at (ABAA). An interesting session as always, learning about upcoming astronomical events in the Sky for the Week talk, discussing on orbital mechanics, sharing the observation report, experiments in silverizing the telescope mirror.

Sunday evening 29/3/2026 at ABAA. The evening was filled with activities with Sky for the Week, which talks about about upcoming celestial events, members sharing observing reports and discussions on Astronomy topics. Sundays evening leaning astronomy and improving the skills.

22/3/2026, Sunday evening at Association of Bangalore Amateur Astronomers (ABAA). Members discussed on upcoming celestial events, discussion on Observing and tracking comet MAPS, sharing DIY by young members and a detailed discussion on comets and their orbits.

When the Sun, in its apparent motion from north to south, reaches the Equator, it is said to be at the equinox. This occurs twice a year—once in March and again in September. In 2026, the Sun reaches the Equator on 20 March at 8:17 PM IST.

Members shared their observing report and later observing Jupiter through the telescope.

He spoke about making the list of objects and how to observe them explaining what to expect at the eyepiece. He gave a wonderful list of objects that can be seen from the light polluted city conditions. Members enjoyed the talk and had a lengthy interactive session with Akarsh2/3

Sunday 8/3/2026 evening at ABAA. Dr. Akarsh Simha gave a talk on Observing The Deepsky Objects. He covered very important topics on ppl physiological conditions of dark adaptation, optics and getting the right optics, field and magnification and their importance.1/3

Sunday 1/3/2026 evening at ABAA. Mr. Ram Mohan gave the second part of the talk on Calculus: Madhava's Invention in 1375AD. This is in part of series of lectures on Ancient Indian Astronomy given every first Sunday of the month.

Today We have Total Lunar Eclipse, visible from Parts of Asia, Australia, Pacific, parts of Americas. The eclipse ends at moonrise for Bangalore; the moon will just 3 degrees above horizon at the end of eclipse. The times are given in IST.
