Something I think deserves some 👏🏼 is that we had ZERO breakdowns on Oaks/Derby days, two days that all eyes are watching. Unfortunately we have had some unlucky big days in the past but this weekend everyone that raced came home healthy 🙏🏼🙌🏼 !!!!

Yesterday was the most watched Kentucky Derby of all time…19.6 million for telecast and 24.4 million for actual race It was higher rated than basically every sporting event besides the NFL and College Football title game It’s crazy how much the Derby continues to grow

And shout-out to the McGaughey barn, because although the Phipps model has changed in recent years, yesterday doesn't happen without the decades they spent developing these families, including Carrumba.

I sold Ocelli for 12k, yesterday he ran 3rd in the @KentuckyDerby & won 500k. And gues what? I'm celebrating. Because of what this means for everything we still have. Ocelli's brothers just became a lot more valuable. His mom Zalia is now a queen. The bloodline we've been building for years just got validated on the biggest stage in racing. One horse running 3rd at @ChurchillDowns does more for your breeding program than a decade of "he has potential" conversations ever could. But there's a bigger lesson here. Everyone passed on Ocelli because he had a "weird gait." Moved different. Didn't fit the template. Turns out that weird gait was elite. Top 3 in the world elite. The market constantly undervalues things that don't fit the mold. In horses. In real estate. In people. The ones who move different aren't always broken. Sometimes they're just built for something the rest of us can't see yet.

I can’t find interview on social media, but yesterday Will Walden gave some credit to flat work/dressage as a beneficial factor to Rhetorical’s physical wellbeing and success. He needs to say it louder into a megaphone for everyone to hear 🗣️ Flatwork your racehorses!!

No better way to celebrate the end of Derby than with 3 thoroughbreds 😍 Pappy girl very happy but very good for a good trail ride after practically sitting for the last two weeks!!!! 💖😭 so happy to be back in our swing of things

This does not happen with every Derby winning trainer. Big mainstream opportunity for the sport.

With his wins this weekend, @jose93_ortiz now has a personal Triple Crown as well as the Kentucky Oaks. The complete Classic set. What a massive accomplishment at only 32.

@reredevaux Here is my son with Golden Tempo as he took care of him at Claiborne Farm. He loved that horse. And him celebrating by jumping int a very cold pool after the win. We all jumped. Great Day

Golden Tempo’s yearling groom, Bryce Lee, has quite the reaction to seeing his boy win the Kentucky Derby. Golden Tempo is our 11th Kentucky Derby winner raised @claibornefarm in the last 100 years. Many thanks to a wonderful staff that takes great care of our horses!

Nothing more powerful than having a partner who believes in you, supports you and pushes you. I do believe it can be an influential factor in success

@MollyJoRosen @daniehens @nickluck If I could make one change to how we train racehorses here, it would be incorporating the cross-training concept & teaching horses how to carry themselves (through flat work) as a standard practice. It really does make a difference to their body. I could go all day on this topic

@daniehens @abbey_huffman It was pre-race with @nickluck's amazing Aidan impression and then again with Nick in the winners circle ~ we need that clip for so many reasons but especially the cross-discipline training convo Will is such a smart horseman ~ saw it at Bluewater & love seeing him succeed

How cool was this. The boys saw @Riley_Mott yesterday and wanted to tell him good luck before the derby. Not only did he get a picture with them but took the time to invite them in the barn to see Albus & Incredibolt. What a true class act you. Thank you for being so kind ❤️

Travis' call was fantastic. Caught Golden Tempo about as early as you could. People on here giving him shit yesterday, guys been unreal for over a decade at the top level.
