Things struggling middle school readers do NOT need: — silent reading time — vocab lists of random words, no tie to the science or history/SS they are studying, no theme or etymology or morphology — “choice boards” where they get 6 ways to avoid reading or writing — for you to go slower or give them frequent breaks #ScienceofReading
