Only bilingual applicants (ie mostly Quebecers who already speak French at home) get the inside track on federal jobs, promotions, and contracts. Unilingual English speakers from the rest of Canada? Tough luck, you’re locked out of your own government. Do we really need all our senior military and police officers to be bilingual? Ottawa wastes hundreds of millions every year on translation services, bilingual signage, forced French training programs, and endless bureaucratic overhead.
