Day 3 Listening Tour of Plateau State. Going down to the grassroots to get a first-hand report of challenges faced by our fellow citizens in the rural communities and to enlighten them about Federal government programs and policies. The first stop was at Nagohom Community, Mazah Ward, Jos North LGA Plateau State where the elders recounted the ordeal. Notable amongst them was the lack of mobile communication networks, which further worsened the state of insecurity, and systematically cut them off from the rest of the country. Other concerns raised are their inability to access some of the palliatives from the Federal Government, lack of clean water; which constantly exposes them to diseases like Cholera, and the absence of a functional health care facility. Next stop was the Barkin Ladi IDP camp which hosts several communities who fled their homes due to incessant attacks by bandits. They are calling on the Federal Government to come to their aid through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs by providing food, empowerment, and proper clothing for the cold, and deal with the insecurity so they can go back to their homes and farms to have the means to sustain themselves. The president is committed to grassroots engagement. Leave no one behind. This is the end of my listening tour in Plateau State, My Next stop is Nasarawa State. @Asovillanews_ @officialABAT @woye1 @bosuntijani @NGfmafs @Imranmuhdz @PoliceNG @DefenceInfoNG @FMWA_ng @UNOCHA

We’re actively exploring avenues to bolster economic and trade collaboration between Nigeria and Sweden, a focal point of our discussions with Swedish Ambassador Annika Hahn-Englund in my office earlier today. During our meeting, she highlighted the presence of approximately 40 Swedish companies already operating in Nigeria. Ambassador Hahn-Englund also commended the economic reforms undertaken by the President @officialABAT led administration, expressing confidence in their ability to foster growth. I assured her of our commitment to mobilizing domestic resources and engaging the private sector, while attracting foreign direct investments and ensuring equitable access to capital and sustainable financing. We’re also fully dedicated to addressing illegal migration while facilitating legal migration pathways. Also in focus was establishing long-term and sustainable infrastructure financing mechanisms. #bilateralrelations #economicgrowth #BudgetandEconomicPlanning

This administration is steadfast in engaging with critical societal issues, committed to fostering transparency and ethical governance. That’s why I stood alongside Vice President @officialSKSM at the Public Engagement on Youth, Religion, and the Fight against Corruption, as well as the Launch of the Fraud Risk Assessment Project for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies organized by @officialEFCC earlier today. The event highlighted pressing matters such as youth re-orientation, the role of religion in combating corruption, and the implementation of the Fraud Risk Assessment Project across various government entities. This reiterates our unwavering dedication to cultivating a socio-economic landscape characterized by accountability and equity, ensuring the well-being of all citizens.

As the representative of President @officialABAT at the just concluded Third South Summit of the Group of 77 and China, I conveyed his call for a critical review of the global tax system, emphasizing its impact on developing nations, particularly in the taxation of digital economies. Nigeria champions a more equitable tax framework, actively participating in a UN initiative for a Framework Convention on Tax. In my address, I articulated President Tinubu’s support for a two-state solution in the Israel-Palestine conflict and urged international collaboration to tackle challenges such as climate change, cybersecurity, and illicit financial flows. The President underscores the necessity for transparency and accountability in these collective efforts. Our commitment to rebuilding economies, fortifying healthcare systems, and ensuring sustainable livelihoods remains unwavering in the face of global challenges. Technical cooperation, capacity building, and Triangular cooperation play pivotal roles in our strategy. I concluded by delivering the President’s message, urging the Group of 77 to envision a responsive movement aligned with member states’ needs and aspirations, highlighting Nigeria’s steadfast dedication to multilateralism and the Bandung principles. #Nigeria #G77Summit
