I’ve run businesses in Bristol all my life. I’ve seen immigration raids up close. People stuck in hotels, banned from working, surviving on £60 a week, then blamed for trying to live: facebook.com/share/p/1AtQGT…?

Cllr Malik said the root cause of the problem was twofold: successive Govts have refused to give asylum seekers the right to work while they wait for their asylum claims to be decided, & even when people are allowed to work, the system to obtain the correct paperwork is ‘broken’
