I’m applying for a thing I probably won’t get, & I know the possibility of not being successful is real. But you don’t get anywhere in life without taking risks. It’s brave to back yourself, & failure is another opportunity for learning anyway. That’s what I’m telling myself 😌

I really want to go to LSA in San Juan next year but it’s tricky timing with NZ end of trimester. I could feasibly go without missing any teaching but I’ll inevitably be tired & stressed. But if I don’t go, I know I’ll have major fomo. Translation - please tell me I should go 😂

See you in spring, Aotearoa! Cried when I left my partner at the airport. I used to travel without him all the time but needless to say we’ve been pretty inseparable the past few years! It’s so surreal to finally be going. Feeling extremely grateful & fortunate to be doing this💜

I am so grateful for the opportunity to speak to the Standing Committee on Justice & Human Rights in Canada this AM. I will also be sending through publications. I hope that the committee consider evidence from NZ carefully, & above all listen to current sex workers in Canada.

0n Boxing Day, for reasons still unknown, suddenly and devastatingly our beautiful 3 year old son Alexander died. I want the world to know how much joy he brought to everyone's lives, but especially ours. We are lost without him. Please keep our gorgeous, kind boy in your hearts.

Can finally share this new paper! I use the concept of social harm to discuss implications of sex work policies,focusing on the experiences of 46 sex workers in NZ interviewed for two projects. Huge thanks to @MarsdenFund for funding this ongoing work.
