To think that some people felt that Arsenal were bottlers. More like battlers. They ground out another win, this time over a dogged Burnley, to take them to within touching distance of a first Premier League title in 22 years. If not quite the Invincibles – Arsene Wenger's record-breakers were a better side – this team of Mikel Arteta’s are certainly the Indomitables. They keep facing down adversity, injury, challenges, obdurate opponents. They are not always the greatest to watch, unless Bukayo Saka is weaving his way into the area, twisting left-backs inside out, but they are supremely resilient. Players stood up to counted under pressure. David Raya in goal. Gabriel at centre-back. Declan Rice, the best player in the league this season, shielding the defence and driving Arsenal forward. Viktor Gyokeres, maligned initially, now celebrated for his 14 goals in this league campaign. Arsenal’s spine has been strong. Arteta rotated well. Kai Havertz started and scored against Burnley. Arteta subbed well. Havertz removed quickly after risking a red with a dangerous challenge. So close now. Arsenal will deserve this title for holding their nerve when so many questioned them. #AFC

@Afcmex_ The only thing Gabriel Jesus brought with himself from City was his medicine box and medical reports.

🚨💔When Gabriel Jesus Walked Into London Colney, Something Changed 🔸️He didn’t arrive with a speech. Gabriel Jesus walked into Arsenal’s training ground in the summer of 2022 carrying a duffel bag and the weight of four Premier League medals. Nobody told him to lead. He just started running. 🔸️First drill, first sprint, he was already 5 yards ahead of everyone. Pressing like it was the Champions League final in August. Young players looked at each other like, _“Is it always like this?”_ For them, it wasn’t. For him, it was normal. At City, losing a rondo meant a fine. At Arsenal, it became a standard. 🔸️That’s what he gave Arsenal first: belief you could feel. Not tactics. Not goals. Belief. Suddenly the Emirates wasn’t a place where dreams faded in April. It was a place where 60,000 people started chanting “We’ve got our Gabriel back” in October, because he was everywhere. Chasing lost causes, dropping deep to find Ødegaard, laughing with Saka like they’d played together for years. 🔸️And for a while, it worked. 11 goals, 7 assists, Arsenal top of the league at Christmas. You could see it in his face after games - exhausted, bandaged, but grinning. Like he’d finally found a team that matched his heart. 🔸️Then came Doha. One tackle at the World Cup, and his knee gave out. He flew back to London not as the striker carrying Arsenal’s title charge, but on crutches, watching from the stands as the season he’d ignited started to slip. You could see the frustration in his eyes on the bench. He’d given everything to get Arsenal here, and his body betrayed him when it mattered most. 🔸️That’s been the story since. Come back, score, smile. Get hurt, rehab alone, watch someone else take your spot. Knee, hamstring, another setback. Every time he starts to feel like _himself_ again, football pulls the rug out. 🔸️And the hardest part? He never complains. He comes back quieter, hungrier. Presses harder in his first game back than most players do all season. Because for Gabriel, it’s never about proving people wrong. It’s about not letting the people who believe in him down. 🔸️Arsenal fans get it. They’ve booed and cheered and argued about his goals tally. But when he scores, the whole stadium sounds like it’s exhaling. Because they know what he’s been through to get there. They know he’s the guy who changed the standard, who made them believe again, even if the injuries keep stealing his moments. 🔸️He didn’t just move from Man City to Arsenal for a contract. He moved to build something. To take a young team that forgot how to win and teach them what it felt like. 🔸️The medals might not be on his shelf yet. But if you ask anyone at Arsenal who changed the soul of the club, they’ll say the same name. 🔸️He’s still fighting for that 30-game season. And when it comes, you’ll know it. Because Arsenal will look different when their guy is finally allowed to stay on the pitch.

Everyone hates us for all thier own reasons... 1. Jealousy of never been relegated, with a single not very close scrape 2. Bank of England club from the 30s who signed the best players and won it all 3. 1.0 to the Arsenal, if we scored against you, in the 70s, in the Invincibles season, currently?, fans knew that we would hold out. 4. Xenophobia. many hated Wenger (Ferguson to start with until he mellowed) French players, and we won trophies, X1 team without any English players 5. Not having dodgy made up sponsorships, seperate contracts off the books payments, and being self sustainable, which a)drives others mad b) others have tried and failed 6. Win the Dog - its drives people mad! I can go on and on....
