My fathers employer (A marwadi mill owner) donates 5cr everyyear in different charities, temples, but when asked to increase salary of employees(labour's) 10 - 20rs per day is more for them (300 labours, all contractual) They think paying more will make labours lazy.

@Ayush90588474 India has a very deep, biased and pervasive disdain - disrespect for skilled tradespeople. Most in India dont look at skilled trades as a socially acceptable career. Indians would prefer to be a peon in an office as compared to a welder, electrician etc.

Why don't these guys learn CNC machining, Injection modling etc and start working for some factory? The salary won't be much different

@Couchoholic @VishalBhargava5 Those aee excuses. Contractor have legal rights to sue govt for misuse of the road rhey build. Also govt has right to sue RTO for not doing its job. RTO has right to sue overloaded transporters.

@VishalBhargava5 There are variety of reasons for bad roads for example even if contractor did good job. Overloading vehicle is major reason. RTO takes bribe to allow run 35 tonn load vehicle which has permission of 25 tonn.

I am deliberately doing videos on Indian roads. One primary reason: Highlight the contractors who have done a top job. Be it Recondo in Pune, Road Builders Malaysia in Kerala, Roman Tarmat in Navi Mumbai If we want good roads - we must know and celebrate the good contractors

In 2006, a Malaysian contractor who died by suicide named several government officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) and Ministry in Kerala in his suicide note, blaming them for harassing him & delaying payments to his firm. Among those named was Gyanesh Kumar (PWD Secretary) who was subsequently transferred to another post. A vigilance probe was ordered to investigate the allegations, but it ultimately yielded no conclusive findings. Interestingly, the road associated with this incident was reported to be of exceptional quality, earning praise from the Kerala High Court for its construction standards.

While travelling through the newly inaugurated Acqua line of the #MumbaiMetro came accross these group of workers who were having food . These lads worked 24×7 and sweat for an infrastructure which they would never use +recieve no acknowledgement from the civil society :(

our landlord lives on the second floor in the same house as we do, and most of the times he’s home out of curiosity, we asked him about his full-time work to which said that he’s a full time landlord manages the house that we live in, the adjoining house and probably a bunch of other properties as well not sure how I look at this but his father was a revered ias officer and this is what he does full-time

I have a close friend who is a popular neurosurgeon at Hyd. Simple guy, extremely smart, totally grounded, and very well respected all around. He has a rule he once told me about - when he needs to form an opinion about a person, he brings up the topic of Mahatma Gandhi. If the person speaks poorly of Gandhiji, he's automatically assigned a 'don't take him seriously' tag.
