The new @LivingWageUK real Living Wage rates are out!
Both the UK and London #LivingWage rates have risen: £12.60 (UK) £13.85 (London) meaning a pay-rise for almost half a million workers so they can continue to meet their everyday needs.

So disappointed that @UKLabour voted against this.
This change was required to permit organisations like ours to recruit volunteers and employed drivers. @CTAUK1 has modernised its MiDAS training to provide Safe, Legal and Comfortable journeys

@NorthantsStree @ALewerMBE As part of the consultation our trade body @CTAUK1 is proposing to mandate the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS). This will ensure a safe, legal and comfortable journey for our passengers. All of our drivers have this nationally recognised qualification.

@abilitycic @ALewerMBE Whilst I'm sure this an inconvenience. I'd be concerned about removing regulations that ensure people are properly trained before driving passenger vehicles. We need public service drivers to be trained and paid.

The UK driving licence regime puts off community transport volunteer drivers. C.30% of Northampton South constituents are between 20 & 40, but this age group currently cannot drive CT minibuses. @abilitycic

@NorthantsStree @ALewerMBE Hi it’s not just volunteers who are impacted but majority of our drivers are paid (above the Minimum Wage). Unless you passed your test before 1997 you can’t drive a minibus over 3.5t MAM
