Heartbreaking News from Kanha Tiger Reserve
Another tragic incident has been reported from Kanha Tiger Reserve. Tigress T-141, popularly known as the Amahi female, passed away this morning due to a severe lung infection.
She had already lost all three of her cubs in the last eight days. The tigress was rescued and shifted to the Animal Care Centre, but unfortunately could not survive.
T-141 had her territory in the Umrapani and Amahi Nala area of the Sarhi Zone and was a favourite among tourists, who frequently sighted her.
It has now come to light that the Forest Department was informed about the weak condition of the tigress and her cubs as early as 17 April. However, no timely action was taken, and the deaths continued until the tigress herself succumbed.
when there are too many tigers for the available habitat, perhaps they stop being valued. #tigerdeath #bigcatprotection #mptigerdeath #kanhatigerreserve
