I’ve done Black Femicide advocacy for years now. Mainstream and liberal feminists are absolutely scared of touching femicide because they are scared of anything that acknowledges that black men can also be oppressors.

I live in a city with multiple neighborhoods like this. One close to me I call “black old money” - most ppl there own the homes which have stayed in the family for generations. There is a “black new money” area populated mostly by military families, doctors, engineers, etc

I had a Black man try to tell me that they usually aren’t family annihilators. I had to burst his bubble and let him know the only reason a lot of the violence inflicted on women and children in our communities isn’t classified that way, is due to two things 1. Our homicide rates when we’re pregnant. 2. You aren’t counted as a family if you’re not married to or legally registered as cohabitating with the mother. Instead of always jumping to compare yourselves to white men, start with the man in the mirror and men in your community. Deflecting with what they do ain’t changing that BW are killed at a higher rate than they exist and experiencing intimate partner violence at extreme rates.

A Black man murdered all of his children-including a 1 year old. He shot their mother and her sister. Are y'all ready to talk about domestic violence in our community yet?
