@ablank1231 Thank you for your willingness to be a part of the conversation. I am feeling a bit disheartened today. I started collecting the narratives of BIPOC educators in international schools three years ago for my doctoral research and much of my advocacy is based on those stories. #1

I’m asking these questions about harm for a variety of reasons, but mostly because I’ve spoken to FOUR different BIPOC educators this week across the globe who are being harmed in their organizations. They have no in house support.

@ablank1231 I have suggested this, but concerns about repercussions have been expressed.

@GodivaSlim @DEIJ_Warrior I agree w/ this. It honestly depends on the person & how it has damaged them. Some people will always look @ someone w/ grief & disappointment. Some look @ others & realize maybe they overreacted & second guess themselves. It depends on the hurt person. Forgive but never forget?

@DEIJ_Warrior I tend to think that some relationships don’t need to be positive or negative. Maybe it’s a relationship that can be neutral and utilitarian.

Is it possible to build positive relationships with colleagues who you feel have harmed you emotionally? If so, how?

As an #educator #MaslowbeforeBloom. Key ed idea: S's primary psychological & physiological needs have to be met before we can entertain the idea of advancing deeper learning outcomes.Classroom app: How can we modify our learning environments to make everyone feel safe and secure?
