You claim you want to learn cybersecurity yet you give excuses about resources.
Nothing has to be perfect.
Not a fancy certification to begin.
Not a $1,000 course to practice.
Or even the “perfect” setup.
All you need is your laptop, phone, an internet connection, and the decision to start today.
Every day you delay, someone else is learning, practicing, and moving closer to the career you say you want.
Stop waiting for the “right time.”
Stop blaming the lack of resources.
Stop making excuses.
Start now. Learn now. Improve now.
You don’t need a mentor to start.

Today, I began consultations with respected members of the Governance Advisory Council. We had honest, thoughtful conversations about the future of Lagos and the kind of leadership it requires.
I value the experience and guidance shared. This is about listening, learning and working with others to build a stronger Lagos.

READ this thing carefully. you may understand the high level of betrayal 👇👀🧑🦯
To get Jonathan out of office, they all left the PDP.
Atiku, Saraki, Amaechi, Tambuwal, El-Rufai, Kwankwaso, Nyako, Wamakko etc.
Atiku’s was the most despicable.
He had met with President Jonathan and when the President appealed to him to support him in the then coming 2015 presidential election, he said that he (GEJ) should hand over to him (Atiku) the PDP presidential ticket.
A former vice president asking an incumbent president to hand him the party’s ticket because that president was from a minority group while he is from one of the country’s majority ethnic groups.
Of course, Jonathan said no.
So the exodus from PDP continued but it was to the advantage of the APC and anything that would make Buhari win was ‘good’ as far as I was concerned (and I am still concerned).
Nyesom Wike, Sule Lamido, Bode George, Ayo Fayose etc stood by their party.
PDP was going to become lifeless but Wike, in particular, gave her a life saving oxygen.
It was because of Wike especially that PDP only went into coma instead of being certified dead.
Immediately they got to the newly formed APC, two of them - Atiku and Kwankwaso wanted the party’s presidential ticket.
Buhari was disturbed because he had no war chest to compete with the duo in a party primary. He could not even compete with Okorocha who also wanted the ticket.
Tinubu assured him of victory.
The first step he (Tinubu) took was to fix the primary at his base - Lagos.
The second step was that he ensured that none of his ACN contingent in his new APC contested for the ticket and that included his ACN men from the north.
The third was that he picked Dr Kayode Fayemi as the chairman of that convention.
Then the day came and after the exercise, Muhammadu Buhari emerged winner after spending next to nothing against Atiku especially.
Jonathan lost to Buhari in the general election and more PDP top shots left the party but all those listed above stayed.
Saraki was the Atiku group’s point man and since the Buhari group had taken the president’s position and the Tinubu group had taken the vice president’s slot, the Atiku group felt that they should take the senate president’s office and out of desperation, they took it but in the most dishonour and despicable manner.
They slowed down that wheel of progress of the Buhari government in his first term and so APC decided to get rid of them and they did.
Then, they returned to the PDP where Wike and others were left with no choice than to welcome them back.
They came back so that they could challenge Buhari in 2019.
Wike threw his support to Tambuwal and like Tinubu did for Buhari, Wike took the primary to Port Harcourt but unlike Tinubu, his preferred aspirant, Tambuwal lost to Atiku.
Atiku then picked Obi as his running mate against President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and they were roundly beaten by the late fPMB.
In 2023, Buhari would complete his eight years rule and so every Nigerian who has an iota of fairness in him as well as respect for other geopolitical zone in the country felt that it should be the turn of the south especially going by the fact that the northern part of the country has ruled more than the south two times over at the very least.
So Wike, who never left the PDP when others left and who sustained the party when it was in political ICU threw his hat into the ring.
But surprisingly, at the 2022 PDP presidential primary at the Moshood Abiola stadium in Abuja, Tambuwal, who was also an aspirant and who had already delivered his speech, was allowed by Iyorchia Ayu to speak the second time whereas voting was supposed to be the next thing.
And when he spoke, he spoke in favour of a northern conspiracy against the man who stood by the party when they left in search of a presidential ticket in APC.
Ayu, another northerner declared him hero of democracy.

Did You Know There’s a USB-A Connector Colour Coding Scheme
Have you ever looked at the USB ports on your laptop and wondered why some are blue, some are black, and others are bright orange? It’s not just a design choice—it’s a performance indication.
The colour of that little plastic insert (the "tongue") is a standardized (though sometimes flexible) shorthand for what that port can actually do.
Understanding these colours can save you from the frustration of slow data transfers or "slow charging" warnings.
Here is a quick guide to decoding your tech:
⚪ White (USB 1.x)
The original standard. These are mostly "legacy" now, offering speeds up to 12 Mbps. Fine for a keyboard or mouse, but painful for moving files.
⚫ Black (USB 2.0 / Hi-Speed)
The most common port for many years. It supports up to 480 Mbps. While much faster than white, it’s still the bottleneck for modern external hard drives.
🔵 Blue (USB 3.0 / SuperSpeed)
This signaled a massive leap. Blue indicates 5 Gbps transfer speeds. If you are moving photos or videos, always look for the blue port first.
🔵 Teal/Light Blue (USB 3.1 Gen 2)
Often confused with standard blue, this variant supports 10 Gbps. It’s essentially "SuperSpeed+" and is becoming the gold standard for high-performance USB-A.
🔴 Red or Orange (High-Power / Sleep-and-Charge)
These colors usually indicate a high-current port. These are designed to charge devices faster or remain powered even when your computer is in sleep mode. They often support 10 Gbps or higher.
🟡 Yellow (Always-On)
Similar to red/orange, yellow ports are typically "Always-On." You can plug your phone in to charge while your laptop lid is closed and it's tucked in your bag.
💡 The Pro-Tip:
Manufacturers don't always follow the rules. Some brands use proprietary colors (like Razer’s green or Kraft’s purple). When in doubt, look for the SS (SuperSpeed) logo next to the port.
Why does this matter for your workflow?
Plugging a high-speed SSD into a black USB 2.0 port is like putting a speed limiter on a Ferrari. Match your colors, and you’ll match your potential.

Most companies don't get security audits because they’re dying to be safer; they do it because their insurance provider or a government regulation (like PCI or SOC2) says they have to.
A Vulnerability Scan is fast, automated, and sometimes cheap.
Pentest is slow, manual, and expensive. It’s like hiring a professional arsonist to see if they can actually start a fire and get to the vault.
Also, Salespeople know that Penetration Test sounds premium and Vulnerability Scan sounds like maintenance.
Many low-cost security firms will run an automated tool (like Nessus or Qualys), slap the results into a PDF with a fancy cover page, and bill it as a Basic Pentest.
Real pentesting is invasive. A good pentester will find a way to pivot from a printer's guest Wi-Fi all the way into the CEO’s email.
That creates a massive To-Do list for the IT department.
Companies pay for the scan but call it a pentest because it sounds better in board meetings and costs 80% less.
It’s security theater.
Cyber_Racheal@CyberRacheal
Vulnerability Scanning is not Pentesting. Why do companies keep paying for one and calling it the other?🤔

The CIDR notation /26 indicates that 26 bits are used for the network portion, leaving 6 bits for hosts 32 - 26=6.
To find the "block size" (number of addresses per subnet), calculate 2^6=64.
Subnets with a block size of 64 start at 0 and increment by 64:
Subnet 1: 192.168.1.0
Subnet 2: 192.168.1.64
Subnet 3: 192.168.1.128
Since the host IP is 192.168.1.50, it falls within the first subnet (192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.63)
The broadcast address is always the last address in the subnet range. In a block of 64 starting at .0, the addresses range from .0 to .63.
Therefore, 192.168.1.63 is the broadcast address
A. 192.168.1.63✅

A host has the IP address 192.168.1.50/26. Which of the following is the broadcast address for this subnet? A. 192.168.1.63 B. 192.168.1.64 C. 192.168.1.127 D. 192.168.1.255

A CPU is a general-purpose processor designed to handle the main logic and sequential tasks of a computer,
while a GPU is a specialized processor optimized for simultaneously handling massive amounts of data through parallel processing
The Intel CPU architecture is built for versatility, using large caches and complex logic to race through diverse instructions.
In contrast, NVIDIA GPUs use a more streamlined design that prioritizes data movement across thousands of cores.
CPUs are essential for running the operating system, office applications, and logic-heavy tasks.
GPUs excel in environments where speed and volume are more important than complex logic, such as AI training, 3D rendering, and scientific simulations.
Most modern computers use a hybrid approach; the CPU manages the system's broad functionality while offloading compute-intensive parallel tasks to the GPU.
Many entry-level devices use integrated graphics, where the GPU is built directly onto the CPU chip to save power and space

When you press Windows + K, you are using a built-in Windows feature called Cast (or Connect in older versions) that uses Miracast technology
This essentially acts like an "HDMI cable over Wi-Fi," allowing you to mirror or extend your laptop screen to a TV without any physical wires
It opens the Cast or Connectmenu in Windows 10 and 11 to find nearby wireless displays.
How to Use this technique:
1. Turn on your TV and ensure it is on the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
2. Press Windows + K and select your TV from the list.
3. Accept any connection prompts on your TV screen.
This method transmits both video and audio without needing physical cables or extra software.
Dr. Rutto Kiprono@Arap_Turitik
You don’t need that HDMI to connect your laptop to your TV. Press Windows+K
