- Dr. Ghalibaf (Speaker of Parliament)
- Dr. Araghchi (Foreign Minister)
- Dr. Ahmadian (Secretary of the Defense Council)
- Dr. Hemmati (Central Bank Governor)
The US delegation is made up JD Vance, a failed author, Steve Witkoff, Trump’s gold buddy and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law. None of them have the technical range to negotiate complex nuclear issues.

HIGHEST-LEVEL TALKS SINCE 1979 JD Vance is leading the U.S. delegation with Kushner and Witkoff for direct face-to-face talks with Iran's Foreign Minister and Parliament Speaker. This is the 1st meeting at this level between the two countries in 47 years. Iran brought a 71-person delegation including negotiators, experts, and media. This signals both sides are treating this as serious diplomacy. Not backchannel messaging but formal state-to-state negotiations at the VP level. What this means for Iran: 6 weeks ago they were regime-change targets, now they're sitting across from the US Vice President as a negotiating partner. That's major diplomatic recognition. Whether talks succeed or fail, Iran just proved it can hold its ground long enough to bring Washington to the table as equals, not as a defeated party.

Flight trackers caught dozens of C-17s and C-5s shuttling between Gulf bases, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait right after the ceasefire dropped.
We're talking C-17 cargo flights to Israel in a single day, over 70 heavy transports in the first post-ceasefire window.
This is resupply, not withdrawal. Munitions, equipment, Patriot systems, spare parts for aircraft that just flew 6 weeks of combat ops.
The Pentagon openly said forces will "stay ready" and can resume "with the same speed and precision" the moment talks fail.
Trump literally posted the quiet part: "All U.S. Ships, Aircraft, and Military Personnel, with additional Ammunition, Weaponry...will remain in place in, and around, Iran."
In other words: we're using the two-week pause to reload, not stand down.
Negotiations are real but so is preparation for phase 2 if they collapse.
