I just realised Dain doesnt have a red axe in the hobbit movies but a red hammer. i guess for two reasons. 1. age ratings, less gore if your just bashing people than hacking them to pieces and chopping of arms and heads 2. easier to CGI less orc blood & guts. a shame

middle earth meta take. King Dain is 20 to 30 points too expensive and a pointless choice for what your getting. literally no point in taking him just take Dwalin or gimli. this is a shame as i love the model and the character. Thorin the 3rd is probably the best overall character or at least best choice for leader and very cheap. having a shield is just amazing all round

To celebrate 100 followers ill start uploading my reading of Execution Hour here. Next parts will be below. i am the greatest warhammer narrator (mostly) but Gordon Rennie is the hero here for crafting one of the greatest warhammer 40k novels ever written, one of the greatest scifi novels ever written. If you can find a copy of this and Shadowpoint the sequel somewhere in the depths of ebay or amazon or even a moldy old book shop somewhere then i highly recommend. Think Gw sell an ebook different places. The book is set during the gothic war and follows the the ship the Lord Solar Macharius and its new captain leoten semper. Big master and commander / hornblower vibes but in a floating skyscrapper firing building sized guns and fighter craft. Amazing characters that are heroic and not so heroic or i should say act in a understandable way given the circumstances. Some of the moments, no spoilers are very profound and deep and touching but also inspiring. that all sounds like guff but man, i mean it. Truly a masterpiece in the military scifi genre. And for 40k really captures the horror and heroism of the settings and portrays faith in the Emperor and the politics and philosphy in a fascinating manner. The fighting is just cool as well really gritty and over the top but believable. if you have never seen Gordon Rennies work before i suggest you track down everything he did for GW back in the day early 2000s (the GOLDEN AGE of 40k lore). so much to say but you give this a listen its truly great. also SHILL subscribe to my youtube channel for more stuff going forward. i recommend Bloodquest comics as well.
