@friscoisd We must cancel schools for the safety of students and teachers! What is one extra day really going to do? Education is important but safety and health always comes first! 📚❤️

Frisco ISD is closely monitoring how today’s higher temperatures will impact the roads and sidewalks on our campuses and the communities where many of our staff live. We will communicate a decision at 5 PM today regarding reopening our schools on Friday, January 30.

@friscoisd Thank you for supporting our community and prioritizing the safety of our students! I was seriously concerned by the possibility of school openings but this post was a big relief! 😮‍💨

Frisco ISD will remain closed Thursday, January 29 due to poor road conditions as ice remains on campus areas and surrounding roads, creating safety concerns for families, student drivers and staff. Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize safety for our FISD community.

@SohamGu42789569 @friscoisd I refuse to condone such blasphemy! School traps children in the matrix, sucking creativity and instilling a sense of conformity in our youth. A couple of day off due to icy conditions won’t hurt them. School must be canceled! ❌

As temperatures are expected to continue to rise throughout the day, Frisco ISD is continuing to monitor road conditions for impacts that may affect school operations. We will communicate a decision at 5 PM today regarding reopening our schools on Thursday, January 29.

@SohamGu42789569 @friscoisd When roads are literal ice, safety has to come first. Expecting mandatory Canvas work on snow days isn’t realistic for every class or student. Teachers and districts plan for make-up days and pacing adjustments. Protect students first. Learning can catch up. Safety can’t. ❤️📚

@abot219 @friscoisd So we’re just supposed to sit at home and do NOTHING all week? 😤❄️ Safety is important, no one’s arguing that. But completely freezing education is wild. If schools are closed, mandatory Canvas work should be posted. Protect students AND protect our learning. This isn’t hard.

@SohamGu42789569 @friscoisd I respectfully disagree with this. Do you not value the safety of the youth? Education is certainly important but students must stay home to protect them from the ice 🧊❄️ CLOSE SCHOOLS FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK ‼️‼️

@friscoisd At this point, we NEED school to be open 😤📚 If it’s not, then teachers should be REQUIRED to post mandatory work on Canvas so we’re not just falling behind for no reason.
