Their domination lasts 13 centuries; that is 1300 years, when Europe goes mostly dark. Embedded in all of this is Hun attacks, also barely acknowledged in history. Also crusades. Europe starts recovering after the 15th century; Venice, Dutch, Spanish & British Empires do not gain dominance around the Mediterranean but instead stretch into other continents via their navies. 3) LOWER LEFT: Collapse of 4 major empires after WW1 leaves behind a fractured region, full with so-called "nation states", who are supposed to be regions of some sort of uniformity through religion, language, race etc. Most of us know the history through these entities. I will spare you the details. 4) Ignorant US war in Iran could pave the way to Muslim unification not only in the Midlle East but also way into Europe. At some point, US will lose, again, and retreat to northern America and EU will be left to deal with much feared Muslim expansion, possibly backed by or accompanied by Asians rising to global leadership.
