On the eve of my CTB Ceremony, I had the privilege of sharing a memorable evening over dinner with His Excellency, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON. I appreciate His Excellency's commitment to investing in exceptional young Nigerians. I am grateful to the @absfoundationng.

I always enjoy conversations with young people who are curious enough to ask difficult questions and thoughtful enough to seek understanding before forming their opinions. Earlier this week, I got talking with a young lady who, as it turned out, had read about the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Global Strategic Advisory Group meeting I attended in Lake Como, Italy. She had been reflecting on some of the issues I raised and asked questions that deserve serious consideration: Why does Africa still export cocoa beans only to import finished chocolate? Can our continent truly move beyond dependence on aid? Interestingly enough, these were the very questions at the heart of our conversation in Italy. My view remains that the realities of the present moment are not a crisis to be managed, but an opportunity to be seized. Africa must redefine its relationship with the world. Not as a passive recipient of assistance, but as a confident and genuine partner. Conversations like these leave me encouraged. They remind me that many young Nigerians are thinking and concerned about Nigeria’s place in the world and are determined to help shape a more prosperous future.

Our Founder, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki , hosted Israel Adeniyi Adekunle for dinner following his excellent feat as the Overall Best Graduating Student of the Nigerian Law School at the Just concluded 2026 Call to Bar Ceremony . Prior to this great feat, he emerged as the Best Graduating Student from the Faculty of Law , University of Ilorin. In recognition of his outstanding performance, discipline, and unwavering commitment to excellence, the ABS Foundation presented him with a ₦2,000,000 award. At the ABS Foundation, we believe that excellence must be seen, celebrated, and rewarded. When young Nigerians rise to the top through hard work and integrity, they set the standard for a generation. Last week, Adisa Blessing Oluwafikayo shared a story that resonated with many Nigerians. After graduating with a First Class degree in Mathematics from the University of Ilorin, she secured a fully funded Master’s scholarship at the University of Calabria in Italy. Yet, despite her remarkable achievement, the cost of relocating threatened to stand between her and the opportunity she had worked so hard to earn. When our Founder, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, learned of her situation, he believed that no young Nigerian should lose such an opportunity for want of financial support. Today, the ABS Foundation is honoured to provide €3,100 to cover her relocation expenses, ensuring that her journey can begin. Blessing was joined by her parents and siblings, who shared in this special moment. We believe that when excellence is recognised and supported, its impact extends far beyond one individual. Nigeria’s future will always depend on investing in young people whose hard work and discipline have already distinguished them. We congratulate Blessing on this important milestone and wish her every success as she embarks on this next chapter. We have every confidence that she will excel and that the knowledge, experience and perspective she gains will one day contribute to the continued progress of our country. Congratulations, Blessing. A ballot paper is a small thing. It weighs nothing, costs nothing, and takes a few seconds to fold. Yet it is the one place where every Nigerian carries equal weight. That is what #June12 protects: the idea that every Nigerian counts for one, and nobody counts for more. Twenty-seven years of civilian rule have not been perfect. Democracy rarely is. But the answer to its flaws has never been less participation. It has always been more. Happy #DemocracyDay from all of us at the #ABSFoundation.

Nearly half the country is under the age of eighteen, and roughly a third of school-age children aren’t in a classroom. The whole point of Children’s Day is to keep that reality in the room, not let it disappear beneath the celebrations. That is also why we try, in our own way, to do more than simply mark the day. Over the years, the #ABSFoundation has supported thousands of orphaned and vulnerable children across the country with school fees, books, and other essentials to help them stay in school and start the term properly. Even then, it is only a small contribution when you think about how many children still need that kind of support. Small in the grand scheme, yes. But not insignificant. And certainly not the end of the work. And so, as we celebrate today, spare a thought for the children who will not be part of the festivities. The ones hawking in traffic. The ones at home caring for younger siblings. The ones in IDP camps. The ones nobody is planning anything for. They deserve this day just as much as anyone else. They asked. We listened. We delivered. Three weeks ago, a group of Aso-Ofi weavers in Ilorin reached out to the #ABSFoundation and told us exactly what was holding their businesses back. Yesterday, every single one of them got what they asked for — down to the last item on the list. Weavers came in from wards across Ilorin West, Ilorin East and Ilorin South, and not one person left empty-handed. That’s decent work taking root at the grassroots #SDG8, and a real step away from poverty for the families behind every loom #SDG1. Here’s why this matters: Aso-Ofi isn’t just cloth. It’s been putting food on tables for generations. It’s history you can wear. So when we stand with the people behind the loom, we’re protecting something much bigger than a business — we’re protecting a piece of who we are. To every weaver who showed up yesterday — thank you for keeping the loom alive! 💙 #ABSFoundation #SDGs

To every woman who received support yesterday, we are rooting for you. Go and do great things!

For many of them, this support is the extra push they need to grow what they’ve worked so hard to build. We’ll be checking in monthly to see how their businesses are growing, because what matters is not just giving support, but seeing real progress over time.

Yesterday, the #ABSFoundation disbursed financial support to women entrepreneurs through our Women Financial Empowerment Support Programme. What really stood out were the stories — women building businesses, raising families, and still showing up every day for their communities.

Progress isn’t measured by the height of a crane, but by the grit of the hands that build it. Today, we salute the architects of our nation—our workers. So today, if you can, put your feet up and relax—you’ve more than earned it. Happy International Workers’ Day!

For worshippers, that means prayers without interruption and a space that feels calm, safe, and ready at all times. We are grateful to the Imams and members of both communities for their warm reception and kind prayers for the Foundation, our founder, and everyone involved.

Earlier this month, the #ABSFoundation fulfilled our promise to the Muslim Ummah at Eyonbo-Anobi Mosque, Ipata, and Alore Mosque with the installation of solar power systems in both mosques. We made a promise. We kept it.

Easter reminds us that no matter how long the night may seem, light always finds its way back. Happy Easter from all of us at the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation.

To the Imams, mosque committees, community leaders, volunteers, and vendors who worked tirelessly on the ground to make this possible, we thank you. From all of us at the #ABSFoundation, Eid Mubarak to you and your families.

Through a coordinated effort across Kwara State, Niger, Sokoto, Bauchi, Borno, Kaduna, Plateau, and the FCT, we provided daily iftar meals to over 66,000 people who needed them most.

As we conclude this holy month, we are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation’s annual Ramadan Feeding Programme a success.
