My wife & I got married after our NYSC Service, She gave birth to our first child, then started complaining that she can’t continue staying at home doing nothing, so I opened a restaurant and a bar for her,
i bought the land and constructed a befitting Structure to match that kind of business, then put everything in charge of her, few years of running the business, the bar & restaurant became the hottest spot in town,
i never asked her how much she was making, unfortunately few years later, due to some irregularities at my work place, some staff were layoff which affected me too, so I was at home, one day I decided to go check things out the restaurants…

Imagine marrying a man you thought was a medical doctor with a good life, and coming to the USA to realize he was sharing an apartment with a roommate. In a few months, you guys are sleeping in his office because he could not make rent. You are pregnant, and you realize giving birth in the USA is not free like they told you. You had to pay around $5,400 to deliver a baby. The man had no clear plan for securing the money for the baby delivery. You turn back to your talent, dancing. You went out on the streets of Los Angeles dressed in a “Cat woman” suit to dance and get tips from people. It felt undignified. You come home and tell your husband what the hustle was, and his response was, “You can do this babe,” with no sign of help. No one was coming to save you. You took your life in your hands. You went to the street and danced for 4 months. On good days, you made $700 a day. You raised the initial money for your delivery. The whole time, people online thought you were living the dream. You had to have a home birth for your second child, which you streamed online so you could save money. Home births are cheaper than hospital births. You packaged a broke man as a doctor doing well in the USA. That is who Korra Obidi is. A wife material that many cannot relate to, dancing through her pain, showing up, fighting poverty in the most beautiful form, the type of poverty that many people back home cannot even imagine. Imagine sleeping on a massage table. When people judge this woman, laugh. When it gets to your turn, don’t use your talent to fight out of international poverty. It is one thing to be poor in Nigeria; at least you will see who will help you. Try being poor in the USA; your eye go first blurrrrr. Nobody go look your face, even family and friends. E no dey hard people to block number here. You will become like a person with leprosy.…..

Two weeks after I got married, my mother in law came for a visit. She had missed our wedding because of a flight issue but came later.
She and I vibed instantly because I had not met her before.
We were inside her room one day, when my husband entered and asked where the laundry I did was, he looked frustrated as he asked for a particular cloth which I had washed
I quickly excused myself from to look for the shirt for him and when I went back to the room, my mother in law asked why I allow him talk to me like that
"Enipe?" 😳
"You're doing his laundry and he still can't look for his clothes himself? What are you? A maid?"
She pulled me closer and said, "see ehn, don't let him turn you to his house girl o, since I got married, I've never done his father's laundry, instead he does mine and I brought him up to be that kind of man, if he's not gon be polite and appreciate your efforts by looking for his clothes after you've washed it, let him wash and fold himself" she said
That was the last time I did his laundry in that house and he has been doing mine
Good mothers in law exist

@AkiangLoveth @kyeruphiona Imagine the Head of the power company dies and everyone takes a break to grieve, your power goes out till they are done grieving.
Imagine that with your "hate."

Mhen! I hate cooperate organization so much, these don’t care about you. I always say a capitalist isn’t your friend, they only care about their business and you are not indispensable, you can be replaced at anytime. I learnt this in a very hard way and since then I don’t think twice about choosing myself first. Don’t ever compromise for theses people, if you need to rest, please take that break.

A coworker died yesterday morning😭.
HR knew by 9 :00 AM, but they kept us working all day. They finally told us around 4 :30 PM, then had the nerve to say, "You can head home early if you need to"—knowing we all finish at 5: 00 PM anyway.
This morning, it’s back to "business as usual." Some of my friends are literally sobbing at their desks, but they’re expected to work and be productive. No time to grieve.
It’s a cold reality. Within a week, the company will have his job posted online. Within a month, someone else will be sitting in his chair.
But his family ,his children will still talk about him every day, they will ask where is daddy , His wife will mourn him for ages ,he was the love of her life .
At work, we are just a "resource" that can be replaced in a week. At home, we are the world. Stop giving your best energy to a desk that will forget you, and giving the "leftovers" to the people who never will.

I understand your grievance, but I won't totally blame the guy.
He was in love and he thought he had a future with her, so he was basically planning his future by placing her in a good job, so that he won't have a jobless wife.
He was just trying to build a family where both he and his woman are financially ok, so that his wife won't depend on him for everything, this is something every man wants.
Let's assume you had a broke bf you loved so much, who has great potentials and is desperately looking for an opportunity, I bet you would have placed him above your brother too, after all you won't marry your brother
This is also the reason why most men train their gf in school or pay for their gf to learn skills. I've even seen some guys who made plans to japa together with their babe.
It's just unfortunate that the girl was a good digger sha.

They gave my brother a slot in his office. I was about to round up my service then, so my dad told him to submit my name. He disagreed and gave his girlfriend the slot instead, they employed her. A few months later, she cheated on him with one of his bosses and later married the boss. My brother and I are not on talking terms to this day.

I was on my way to the gym this morning when I met this pretty girl. I offered her a ride, and she accepted. While we were talking, she started complimenting my looks and all that… I actually liked her vibe. But she began to get too comfortable, and before I knew it, she asked if I could pay for her gym training since she was interested in signing up too.
I immediately asked her to get out of my car… like, what the hell? We had just met a few minutes earlier, and she was already billing me. That was really off-putting. Some girls are just useless 🤦
