Equus is a play ‘where a boy blinds six horses’ is a lede buried as deeply as the repressed sexuality that would lead a boy to religiously and sexually worship a god-horse, resulting in a psychological breakdown where he blinds six horses.

I’d rather be a safe space to someone who’s suffering than believe that internalizing that pain is a more productive means of catharsis. Self-soothing and support are not meant to be substitutes for one another. We owe it to each other to not rob ourselves of vulnerability.
