From 1906 to 1945, the SMR carried out a detailed ethnography on north-eastern China based anthropological theories. Those information may provide an interesting addition to our understanding of the social landscape of north-eastern China in the early 20th century.

This is the first bridge built by the Russians after the establishment of the port in Dalian. It was called the Lucian Bridge. After the Japanese occupation of Dalian in 1905, the bridge was renamed as Japanese Bridge. After 1945, the bridge became known as Victory Bridge.
