Scenes in Karen where it is reported that another building has collapsed today.
Waiting for the full story. It doesn't seem to be the whole structure.
If such small sized structures are going down, buildings this year will really be dancing to the tune of corruption.

CORRUPTION is the keyword. This goes beyond even the collapsing. Those were just extremely unlucky. Building approval department in counties is totally corrupt. Many material suppliers are shrewd business people just after sales. Same to contractors. Some professionals are stamping buddies or even in projects just for business. Some clients have no regard for any kind of professional and moral counsel. Its a mess.

On 8th January 2026, the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) President, Eric Nyadimo, joined the leadership of other built environment professional associations in a joint press briefing held at Blue Violets Plaza, Nairobi, addressing the tragic collapse of a building under construction in South C, Nairobi.
The joint press briefing brought together leadership from the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK), Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK), The Architects Alliance (TAA), Association of Construction Managers of Kenya @acmk_ke , Women in Real Estate (WIRE), Kenya Institute of Planners (KIP), Town and County Planners Association of Kenya (TCPAK), @PMInstitute and the Interior Designers Association of Kenya (IDAK).
In his statement, the ISK President called for an end to the harassment and intimidation of built environment professionals by developers, noting that such practices continue to compromise the safety of buildings under construction and the Built Environment Sector at large. He urged the Government to intervene decisively and enforce accountability, while protecting professionals who uphold ethical and technical standards.
The joint presser reaffirmed the profession’s commitment to accountability, public safety, and restoring trust in Kenya’s built environment sector.
