Hard to believe it’s almost a year since this incredible moment. I was merely hours after giving birth. All the feels! What a life changing year. Excited to say that it’s sparked so much gratitude and lots of ideas. Few things brewing, watch this space!

In just over three weeks I return to work after 51 weeks of mat leave. Feeling sad, relieved, grateful and excited all at once! Over the moon I had such an incredible first year with my son but ready to get back doing what I love. #internalcommunications #comms

On a comedy crash course with @funnywomen this week and a big learning is that even in corporate comms, the transferable skills from working with all levels of employees are so adaptable. It’s just about finding your niche and what excites you. Don’t ever feel stuck!

In this episode of my mid life crisis, I’m doing a comedy course next week. For what? To laugh if anything.

@danflower_ Love this. I’ve been asking myself these questions so much, and it’s so nice to know many others are too.

How can you build a better life without knowing what you’re aiming for? After a tough few weeks and months, I took some time out recently to think long and hard about the life I want to create. I sat quietly on the bench you can see in the photo and wrote down all the things that are important to me - the people, the experiences, the possessions, and everything that makes life worth living. I don’t know whether it was the beautiful view or the surge of emotions, but the thoughts seemed to flow. I realised that most of all I wish for freedom - of time, finances and choices. I want to do the things that make me happy, follow my passions and maximise my potential. I’ll leave the details for another time but if I’m being completely honest I haven’t been truly happy for years. That’s not to say there haven’t been good times, great people or lots of stuff to be grateful for - but I’d also be lying if I said I’d been content with my life as a whole or that I’ve been making the most of each day. That changes from this day forward. Maybe it’s a midlife crisis at 35 😆 but I’m looking forward to the future.

This is a live job advert from a very well known insurance company. I know it’s an attempt to be trendy but can we not? Can’t wait for it to be cool to promote work life balance more in job specs. Ya know ones that don’t ask you to think about comms while eating and sleeping…
