So AFTER PAYING UNION DUES, they got 2.5, 2.0 and 2.0, so 6.5 after 2 years, employees better off with the raises they were already getting, not to mention the agreement is mostly benefits already available at Apple.

@sethhwalker @achtungjamie This is also the first contract and the first store to have one. Big wins on things like wages come down the road, but the fact that we don’t lose anything means workers who were afraid to organize because of Apple’s threats are more likely to join the battle and organize.

@achtungjamie @acoreunion This was my question also. Reading the thread I completely understand it now. I just wish that it would’ve been somewhere along the lines of 12 to 14%. I don’t know the ins and outs but I think 10% is just ok.

@achtungjamie The other is that many members of our team have reached the “cap” of their pay band and have not received real raises for years. They are no longer capped and will be able to receive raises. We also raised the base rate of essentially all roles above specialist.

@achtungjamie Great question. The average percentage is in line with what workers have gotten for many years with a few notable exceptions. The first is that there is a clear and concise methodology to get a specific raise, adding accountability and fairness.

@sethhwalker @codyboteler The biggest wins of our first contract were protections for our workers, building a framework for fair progressive discipline, and protecting the jobs of a dozen of team members unable to meet Apple’s new availability policy. @IamMansaMusa @MachinistsUnion @Apple There is still a merit based scale, so raises could range up to 4.5% year one and if you are at the base rate you may see an additional 2% boost. It’s a complicated article, but once our members vote on the contract we will share more.
