@bradmillscan I guess my point is why struggle with autonomy that will be easy and useful in 6 months when the catalyst loop today working with lets you create whatever you choose to focus on. Attention is the only real startup capital now. If the point is to just be early, that’s cool too.

@AdamBLevine The future where this works is too compelling to let the frustrations of learning how to integrate with the tech defeat me

Last night my OpenClaw agent undid all of the secrets work we did yesterday...
I went to bed around 10 PM & overnight a 2nd instance of OpenClaw undid the work we did (!?) and migrated away from the gateway my terminal is connected to.
I have no clue what's going on...

2 hours into try trying to get my OpenClaw agent to use the Secrets feature to not put passwords in plaintext. It boggles my mind how an OpenClaw agent does not know how to use an OpenClaw feature. My agent rewrote the secrets architecture instead of reading the docs. When I asked him to read the docs and learn how to use it, he gets stuck in a logic loop trying to figure out how to use it properly.

This heart is a hive
And these dreams are lives
And I’ve got friends on the other side
This heart is a child
And these friends are lives
And I’ve got hives on the other side
This heart is a sign
That this world is mine
And I’ve got friends on the other side
This heart is a mind
And these thoughts aren’t crimes
‘Cuz I’ve got friends on the other side

@bradmillscan Consider whether following the current hype isn’t just a waste of your time. It usually is. True useful autonomy will come, but the magic moment is already here if you know what needs creating. Happy to chat if you want.

Frontier models powering OpenClaw can be so remarkably stupid.
Last night I had my openclaw change a simple morning cron to change the content of the cron.
Today the cron fired but the morning brief didn't come, gateway had Sonnet over loaded errors.
I told my OpenClaw powered by ChatGPT 5.4 to investigate why this happened an propose a fix to get it working again.
After like 20 minutes of investigation, firing the cron and having it fail again, it decided that Sonnet was broken and we need to make the cron fire with Codex 5.3.
I told it to do a quick smoke test of Sonnet, which came back successful.
Then 5.4 argued with me that sonnet doesn't work for crons but codex does, and we should fire another test.
I switched it to Opus 4.6 with high thinking on.
I told Opus to diagnose the problem, it was working for 30 days on sonnet, and after yesterday's change it stopped working.
20 mins later Opus 4.6 comes back with the answer that it's an OpenClaw bug and we should file a report upstream
cc @steipete this is probably why you're getting so many slop issues. OpenClaws are literally encouraging users to file bug reports and lying about the cause of problems.
I called my agent out on it and said to check the diff between the cron yesterday and the cron today to find the error. I shouldn't have to do that.
Rather than fixing it, it just switched the cron to run on codex 5.3 and claimed success.
The whole point is to get the crons working on cheaper models. Wasted like an hour on this already this morning and frontier models are just too dumb to fix it.
This should be a dead simple fix for an OpenClaw powered by a frontier model...
