@tracethekidmc I say just make music for yourself that resonates with you and the rest will follow
You have an incredible talent and should definitely execute on it before your time is up
My music has always been like my journal.
It’s very personal and has traversed so many seasons of my life.
The past few years without music have been tough.
I’ve been in a transition on many levels.
I hope what comes from it is something you guys love.
I stopped listening to Eminem around 2005-06
I used to be such a mega fan
But I have not heard any of the music that he has put out in the past 20 years
So I was playing/experimenting with Suno to get some easy drum loops out of it and asked it to make a 90BPM drum loop but then brought it into my DAW and it wasn’t *quite* 90Bpm so totally useless
@PacasoRamirez It sucks getting old, losing the drive you once had, struggling w energy or umph to move forward
Yeah you were a MACHINE before, something must have happened to gas you out
@OttSmile 100% agree I think this is the X factor
I used to flow in a more monotone flow when I was younger and it was arrright but now I put PASSION into it
@adamental It does seem like there’s no real theme or even any real presence behind the words.
You can say the words without feeling and it just doesn’t hit the same
@itsallenthomas The older I get the harder I am to impress
There's lots of interesting ways to make a good song but seems harder and harder to find good writing these days
I dunno man I miss how excited it used to get me
@jiggafras I generally checked out of new artists around when Kendrick Lamar came out with a few exceptions
I'm still locked in 90s hip-hop
And not just for the lyrics either - just the sound, the vibe, the soul, the spirit of it
@adamental No its because the artist nowadays are separated from regular people. They keep rapping about how rich they are etc. When hip hop used to be up on whatever the nation and the world is going through. Do you hear anybody talking about the current world events?
After the things I’ve seen holy shit man, if God ever tears the veil off and shows you what’s really going on…. you don’t want to know… seriously, I don’t want to even talk about it online or even in the presence of my phone - the evil is so unfathomable - now after what was revealed to me I want to burn my phone and everything AI and repent and go to church and throw my soul at Jesus feet for mercy, wow man it’s so much worse than I could have possibly imagined
In 1995, Jersey City MC Heather B dropped “All Glocks Down”—a bold statement during a time when much of Hip Hop was leaning into gun talk and street bravado. 💥 The track was the lead single from her debut album Takin’ Mine, produced by Kenny Parker
