@HACKETTREF many times I’ve heard commentators say ‘I wish the referee would be stronger for once and stand up against VAR to stick with their decision’ Mr Salisbury just picked the wrong occasion to show how independent and strong minded he was to back himself

The latest refereeing controversy is simply another reason why the audio has to be played live in stadium and on broadcasts. It works in other sports. Fans, viewers, listeners deserve to know what’s happening in and to THEIR game. The game doesn’t belong to PGMO/IFAB.

@PolitlcsUK I thought the UK act did well - worth trying something different. At least Europe stuck 2 fingers up at the antisemites by heavily voting for Israel again

@SkySportsNews on this issue Salah is on the same wavelength as the fans - if he drops Salah on his last ever appearance, Slot may as well get the next flight out of Liverpool

"I think Slot should come out and say what he really thinks about Mo Salah" "I'd drop him for the final day" The Telegraph's Jason Burt says Mohamed Salah has "thrown Arne Slot under the bus" and has shown a "lack of class" 🔴

Inside the capture of the BBC, by Rob Burley (@RobBurl) In his 13 years as a senior BBC editor, Rob Burley saw the Corporation’s defining commitment to impartiality undermined by transgender ideology, a blind commitment to Diversity & Inclusion schemes, and a culture of intolerance. Informed by his experiences at Newsnight alongside other prestige shows, his major investigation reveals how the BBC took a side in the culture wars. He draws on extensive interviews with current and former staff — including journalists at the very top. Speaking out for the first time since leaving the Corporation, Fran Unsworth, the former director of BBC News, reveals in an explosive interview: “I would actually say it drove me out, just dealing with the progressive editorial issues and the bullying around them all. It was incredibly difficult.” Read more below ⬇️ buff.ly/7Fv4Ry8

@Daniel_Sugarman That’s why you just know if ‘Palestine’ was given a guest entry to Eurovision (which many are lobbying for) they’d likely win or be close, as all those hostile to Israel have one place to all put their vote

Israel is still going to do well in Eurovision, because everyone who wants to vote for them has one song to vote for whereas everyone who doesn’t want them to win will have their votes split in two dozen ways.

I appreciate that many people will understandably be frightened by what they are seeing at the Unite the Kingdom demonstration today. The right to protest is fundamental. But it can’t be a cover for inciting hatred. We must stand against attempts to inflame and divide us.

@footballontnt understandable why the Liverpool hierarchy want to give Slot another chance due to the unique difficulties this season; but it’s still surprising seeing how lacklustre his team have been and how widespread the dissatisfaction amongst fans is - very hard to turn around

At a time when Prime Minister Starmer is talking about division and hate, it’s worth remembering that bringing the extremist Alaa Abd el-Fattah into the UK was one of Starmer’s self-professed ‘top priorities’ as PM. spectator.com/article/alaa-a…

I’ll always champion peaceful protest. But the Unite the Kingdom march organisers are peddling hatred and division. We’ve already blocked visas for far-right agitators who want to come here to spew their extremist views. They don't speak for the decent, fair, respectful Britain I know.

At Golders Green today, The King reaffirmed his support for the Jewish community, following a series of antisemitic attacks. During his time at the Jewish Care centre in North-West London, The King spoke to victims of the recent knife attack that took place in the area on 29th April 2026. His Majesty also met community police force, Shomrim, who were involved in responding to the attacks.
